Wounded Surprise by Samus-Merid

Silent victories, well earned, well deserved, and well savored,
Even though the wounds leave there lasting marks,
And all of time is insufficient for them to heal,
Thus, we are always searching.

Today, was one of those days,
Where just when life begins to even out,
When you’ve had a few days where you didn’t need a barrier, a cold defense, a distance,
And I got used to not having to fight every day and then life comes up and adds another wound.

And even as I say it, it was somehow different, almost impossible… I am somehow different,
I was rather surprised, but was kicking myself for missing this one,
But even that, wasn’t as bad as it used to be,
I think at long last, after all this war and chaos, I’m finding a small bit of peace.

Where all that was tattered, is slowly being stitched,
It feels like the waves aren’t as big as they used to be,
And the storm inside is diminishing,
And there it is… the smile on my face… I’m beginning to be happy.

Balance, of the three kingdoms,
Blessing, after a trial of doubt,
Peace, from the war that wages upon my life,
Freedom, inside the circle this time.

Mistakes are still made, and I have my fair share to work on,
But for the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m going to be ready for this one,
Not to conquer some dragon to step in inches,
But to wake up from the illusions, build upon the reality, fill opportunities, patch the wounds, and just enjoy the splendor of the world before us.

While working for a better tomorrow,
Hoping for the greater good, changing instead of conquering,
Developing, instead of taking, or buying,
And learning and teaching upon the way.
Got a phone call, got an opportunity, found an answer, listened to a certain song (Third Eye Blind - Wounded), had the long drive home, got to thinking, and just had to write this one down. Let me know what you think, feel, experience and what your fav parts/lines/ideas/concepts are.

How do I describe your poetry? Beutiful, deep, emotional, descriptive, and always what I need to hear. No wonder I always wait for a while to read your poetry. I want to read it when I need it, when everything is in ruins and I need something that allows me to explore my feelings and recover. You poetry does that for me; it allows me to see life in a more positive life and know that someone else also feels it too, but not only that, they can write it down.

"When you’ve had a few days where you didn’t need a barrier, a cold defense, a distance,
And I got used to not having to fight every day and then life comes up and adds another wound."

That is my favourite part!
