The Samus Letters - 8
Everything is different now, so little is left the same,
The colors, names and landscape stay, but somehow all is changed,
And then I realize what has become of my world,
That it is I who sees, sees everything now, much differently.
Life is harder now, but there is peace.
And send outward to all of those who care,
I glow from where I used to shine,
Where I shined as does a slave,
And take away the chains and then,
What was forced is not the same.
Now I grow in peace and love,
And choose the ways I go,
But it is I who pays and gains,
Not an owner of my soul.
So the feeling has few words,
To describe the swell of liberty,
Or the power of a free mans life,
But that as I walk alone, I am also free from strife.
I wish for the worried hearts,
To subside in faith to peace,
And for those who hold on still,
May your whispered prayers find release.
