Cherish by Samus-Merid

I said goodbye, and walked away,
And on the way home there was much I felt I had lost,
Like the empty space next to me,
And my fingers traced the place where you used to sit.

And there are few answers, to fill the empty questions inside me now,
But one thing is for sure, leaving today was different than before,
I knew I would miss you, but that things would be ok,
Like we were both in good hands.

And I wish you well, with all of your journeys and adventures,
And I am sure you will find the way for yourself,
You shined for me, and I shined for you,
And even from far away, you still shine through my darkness.

The angels take watch over you, I could feel them every step of the way,
And our smiles are most rare, because they are smiled in purity,
And always cherish yourself, and strive to be better,
Because there is much of life left to be lived.

And I say goodbye again, and I don’t know why,
But I stand in holy places,  and you have aided me in this way,
I am honored to have known your presence in my life,
And as it should be, I cherish everything, as much I miss it I cherish it I do.
